Positive form
This is used to make comparisons of two equal persons or things. 'As ...as' is used in this form.
Examples.
Shawn is as tall as Johan.
This bag is as heavy as that one.
Comparative form
This is used to make comparisons of two unequal persons or things. The word 'than' is usually used after this form.
'Er' is added to the adjectives of one or two syllables.
'More' is used with adjectives of mroe than two syllables.
Examples
A Basketball is larger than a tennis ball.
The blueberry cake is more delicious than the cheesecake.
Superlative form
This is used to make comparisions of three or more things or persons.
'The...of' or 'the ... in' (of places) is used in this form.
'Est' is added to short adjectives while 'most' is added to loner adjectives.
Examples
The longest river in the world is the Nile.
Of the three boys, Jason is the most creative.
Irregular forms
Some adjectives have irregular forms.

Kenneth is a good student.
Bessie is a better student.
Tony is the best student.
